STA-5 Storm Water Treatment Area

Located South of Clewiston on approximately 17,000 acres, Hendry County's Stormwater Treatment Area 5/6 (STA-5/6) has become one of the premiere birding areas in Florida. More than 200 bird species have been spotted at STA-5.
We view birds as we drive our vehicles. We eat lunch out on the impoundment so bring your own food and water. Only 8 cars are permitted, so carpooling is required around the impoundments. We are guests of Hendry/Glades Audubon. A signed liability release required. Meet at STA 5 parking lot, entrance is at the microwave tower at Deerfence Road on State Road 835.
