Tigertail Beach Nesting Shorebirds
June 22, 2019 @ 7:30AM — 11:30AM Eastern Time (US & Canada)
Very special place to see nesting shorebirds such as Black Skimmers, Least Terns and Wilson's Plovers
Come see shorebirds nesting on Sand Dollar Island, one of the last natural barrier islands on the Florida coast. We will wade (at least waist deep) across a lagoon to the Island, so bring shoes that can get wet and will not be lost in muck (no flip flops). We will walk past at least one nesting area on the island. Those able and willing to walk all two miles to the end of the north end of the island hopefully will be treated to at least one additional nesting area.
Meet at Tigertail Beach parking lot, 430 Hernando Dr., Marco Island.
Trip Leader: Biologist/Summer Shorebird Anchor Steward
